Attorney Ralph Melbourne
Ralph is an advocate whose motto in practice is to always treat the client the way he would want to be treated. This includes a dedication to transparency and communication. Where other attorneys may assume you know the process or are content to predict the outcome they think you want to hear, Ralph takes the time to ensure you understand each step and will always be straightforward with you.
His practice is focused on civil litigation and he draws from a broad background to help in a wide-range of issues. Having grown up in Chicago, Ralph first came to Southern Indiana to attend Indiana University, Bloomington where he majored in History with minors in both Business Management and Spanish. IU is also were he met his future wife.
After graduation, he attended law school at UIC John Marshall in downtown Chicago, where he worked in their Fair Housing Legal Clinic assisting victims of discrimination as well as landlords and owners with federal and state statutory compliance. After law school, Ralph passed the Illinois bar exam and continued in regulatory compliance assisting various Fortune 100 and 500 companies with regulatory due diligence, compliance, and asset management before deciding to re-focus on civil litigation and to start a family.
With that, he and his wife returned to Southern Indiana, where, prior to joining Church, Langdon, Lopp, Banet Law, he passed the Indiana and Kentucky bar exams and worked in general practice in Jackson County, IN. He, his wife and new baby girl now reside in Louisville, where they keep busy working on their 127-year old home, enjoying live music, and cheering on the Hoosiers.
